our organic produce
We grow organically so that means we use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. In our organic orchard, we are growing apples, pears, plums, tart cherries, persimmons, peaches, grapes, and lemons. Our main crop though is garlic and pumpkins.
We have been certified organic through BioGro NZ in the past but we decided that the annual cost of keeping the certification is too high for a small-scale farm like ours. But we keep working with the same methods as before and keep the produce organic and totally spray-free. We care about our community, environment, and waterways. Therefore we wish for generations to come to be able to enjoy it as well.
supporting locals
Buying local, organic and spray-free garlic, veggies, and fruit is a good and healthy choice both for you and your family. The fruit is not only healthy but also full of flavour. Certainly, a lot of them are great ingredients in your jam or chutney. Another great way to be able to enjoy the fruit longer during the season is to dry or preserve them. For sure this will be a delicious snack or a great addition to your breakfast yogurt.
Also on the farm, we have our own egg-laying hens. This is a great way of getting free fertiliser for our trees and garden as well as beautiful free range eggs. We also try to make most of our own compost to add nutrients and organic matter back to the soil. A sustainable lifestyle is our passion and we hope to be able to share this with you.
