terms and conditions 


The terms and conditions below apply to your stay and accommodation at Cherry Homestead Ltd. They must be carefully read and understood.

The person named on the booking invoice is the person liable. You must have read and understood the terms and conditions and by paying the full amount, a binding contract exists. By making the payment you will be deemed to have accepted our quotation invoice and agreed to be bound by our terms and conditions.


All rates are GST (15%) inclusive and are in New Zealand dollars. Bookings are unsecured until payment has been paid. Payment of your accommodation must be paid in full prior to arrival. 

Please contact us to discuss any alternative payment method not listed below. 

Payment can be made by credit card or bank transfer. Please ensure you use a reference to allow us to identify the payment. Your reference is your booking ID and full name.

Full payment is required to secure each booking. When booking online you will pay directly via Cherry Homesteads online booking and secure STRIPE payment system or by bank transfer. Approved credit cards: VISA, MASTERCARD & AMERICAN EXPRESS

Cherry Homestead does not store your credit card details, they are retained by our provider and relate to your invoice with us. 
When you book with Cherry Homestead via our website we are not taking part of the full credit card details. Should you provide your credit card details to us by phone they will be immediately entered into Cherry Homesteads secure online system, managed by STRIPE, and are only accessible for payment, fees, or refund of your invoice.

Bookings can be made online, by phone, or by email. If you are unable to use the online booking system we will help you through the booking process.

After booking your accommodation with Cherry Homestead you will receive a confirmation letter. If payment is not made within the stated time period you may risk losing your booking.

check-in and check-out 

Check-in time is at 2 pm and checkout time at 10 am

Early/late check-in or check-out has to be arranged before arrival. Please note, no discount on the total amount on early departure.


Refunds are provided in line with our cancellation policy. Refunds are processed back to the original method of payment i.e. credit card or bank account. We only refund back to the person or persons who made the payment.

You may have to cancel your booking, do so by phone or e-mail to Cherry Homestead. Cancellation will be effective the day it is received by us.

  • More than 1-month notice  – Payment refunded less the booking fee of $25  
  • Less than 1 month’s notice  – $155 non-refundable unless the cottage is re-let for the same time period then the booking fee only applies

No show Cherry Homestead has the right to charge for the full stay  

Cancellation Peak Season 25 December-31 January & Easter Weekend

  • More than 1-month notice – Payment refunded less the booking fee of $25
  • Less than 1 month’s notice – Cherry Homestead has the right to charge 50% of the total amount of your booking. Amount refundable less the booking fee if the cottage is re-let for the same time period.
  • Less than 14 days – Cherry Homestead has the right to charge 100% of the total amount of your booking. The paid amount is refundable less the booking fee if the cottage is re-let for the same time period.

At any time we reserve the right to make any changes to or cancel your accommodation if we deem it necessary. These may be caused by but are not limited to technical problems, behavioral problems, or damage to the cottage or premise. If we have to cancel your stay we have the right to charge for the full-time booked.


Vehicles are to be parked in the designated area outside the cottage.


Pets are not allowed on-site at any time.   


Noise to a minimum between 11 PM – 7 AM.


2 Gb of data included/stay. Additional data vouchers can be purchased at the office.

We will NOT accept any excessive drinking. Responsible drinking at all times.
We reserve the right to charge fees or prohibit people from returning to Cherry Homestead if an unreasonable amount of alcohol is consumed or people become unruly or uncooperative.

The customer on the booking invoice is liable to pay costs, as determined by Cherry Homestead for any accidental or deliberate damage, caused by you/someone in your party or any visitors of yours.

– A cleaning fee of $200 applies if we are unable to rent out the cottage due to damage or extensive cleaning. 

NO SMOKING inside or near open windows and doors of the cottage. In the event someone has smoked in rooms the cleaning fee in sanitizing these will be charged to the customer as an additional fee.
– If objects are removed/stolen from the cottage, we will directly take action and charge the customer with an amount determined by us.

departure of cottage 

Wash up all your dishes before departure. A cleaning fee applies for leaving dirty dishes behind and leaving the cottage in such a state that extensive cleaning is deemed necessary. Disposal of rubbish and recycling in allocated bins in the cottage. Please note, if furniture has been moved they have to be returned to its original setup before departure. Please leave the key in the cottage or give it directly to us.

privacy policy

Your privacy is important to us. This privacy policy is intended to give you confidence in the privacy and security of the personal information we obtain from you. All information collected from you, by us, will remain private and confidential to Cherry Homestead Ltd.

We may provide information about you to Cherry Homestead staff in order to provide a good stay and service for you. We will not disclose your personal information to any third party unless you have consented to such disclosure or where law requires us to. Should you breach our terms and conditions or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, we may disclose your information to a relevant authority. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purpose of fraud protection and credit risk reduction. Any disclosure of personal information will be strictly controlled and made fully in accordance with New Zealand law.

limitation of liability

Notwithstanding anything else expressed or implied in these terms and conditions and except where a statute requires otherwise, Cherry Homestead Ltd and its contractors shall not be liable whether in contract, tort, or otherwise for:

  • The death of, or any injury to, a person or persons
  •  Damage to property
  • Any direct, indirect, consequential, financial, or economic loss, or damage to property, arising out of any act or omission of Cherry Homestead Ltd or its contractors.
