My name is Emelie Wahlgren and I live here, at Cherry Homestead in the beautiful Motueka Valley, together with my husband Johan and our 2 boys Loke and Viggo. I started my working career as a registered nurse when I still lived in Sweden. I really enjoyed nursing but the move to New Zealand gave me the time and opportunity to expand my interest in design and art & craft.

When we as a family in 2015 decided to make the life-changing decision to move to New Zealand it really gave me the opportunity to set the repressed little crafty Oompa Loompa within me free. Since then, I have been creating driftwood art, custom signs, gifts but also started to renovate and upcycle furniture and wall art etc. I really enjoy the hunt for old pieces to upcycle, repurpose and give a new life when possible. We all care about the environment and wish to keep sustainability in mind.
At Cherry Homestead, I have opened my own little craft and art studio and I would love for you to visit and share my passion for design. You can also visit my online shop and have a browse around home decor, wall art and gift ideas.

Welcome to swing by my design studio here at Cherry Homestead. In the studio, you will find my entire collection of art and crafts. It includes all the bigger pieces such as furniture as well as wall art.
There is an open/closed sign by the road, but please feel free to give me a call, or get in contact on Facebook to check if I’m open before you go. I´m always happy to make an arrangement where possible. I accept cash, Eftpos and VISA/Mastercard.
